I think Jensen’s immensely talented, but here’s where it goes from talent to an art form I have a hard time really comprehending. Subtlety. Jensen excels at being subtle in his changes. Amanda and I were talking about The End and how he could’ve gone extreme; Jensen could’ve hardened Dean up a lot more than he did, and it would’ve worked, but what we see instead is basically Dean without a real care in the world. He stayed perfectly true to present-day Dean, while not letting a smile touch his eyes at all as future!Dean. He held back just enough to break your heart, but not enough to where he lost who his character was in his nuances. Shifter!Deans he did extremely well. He allows himself to take on another persona entirely, without going over the top. Jensen has this way of not only changing his voice, and the way he walks, but also his face. I can’t see ‘Dean’ in Jensen very often, and I can’t see any of these guys either. When Jensen was in Smallville he made me loathe him, and then I come to Supernatural and I fall in love because he was able to make me feel entirely different. He uses his body language and his facial expressions like costumes, and he does so incredibly well. With future!Dean he’s still wearing the same kind of clothes, has the same haircut, but you can tell in a second who is who. I’m in awe of this man’s acting ability. I will always be a little sad we didn’t get to see him as Michael, but I’m very excited for what is coming. He truly is an artist, and I respect him, and his talent, so wholly.

Dan’s face in this is brilliant acting. The trio have all been awake for over 24 hours by this point, and everything seems to be in YKW and the Death Eater’s favour, Hogwarts is falling and people are being killed everywhere and just look at how Dan projects it all on Harry’s face.
Harry’s seen the dead bodies of people he loves and he just has so many emotions overflowing. He knows that Ginny, Ron, or Hermione could be dying as he’s talking to Helena, he’s so tired and over whelmed and he wants it all to end but he knows that he has to keep going despite how terribly awful he feels - not because of the prophecy, but because it’s the right thing to do. Because he needs to make sure everyone is okay and to save as many lives as he can. He carries such a burden for a boy of seventeen and yet he never gave up with depression or fear or exhaustion.
That’s why I love Harry as a character and a person, because even after all the thing’s he’s been through, his abusive childhood, seeing his big-brother-equivilent and his mentor die, being tortured, and always in so much danger, his heart is still so full of love. Yes he’s sometimes whiny and doesn’t always think before he acts, but he has so much love for everyone which is amazing considering what he’s been through - and that’s why he always keeps going. Not for himself, but for everyone else. He is torturing and exhausting himself and going as far as he can to protect everyone. That’s what I call a hero.

#what I love about this isn’t that she hits him #or that she catches him off guard and manages to defend herself or any of that #what I really love about this is that it would be so easy #to play this scene as funny #because we know that Buffy has inhuman strength and that this guy’s gonna get his butt handed to him #and that could be funny #and completely ruin the seriousness of the fact that he’s trying to rape her #he clearly doesn’t see it that way #but obviously from his actions he’s not overly concerned with what she wants so #but anyway if you look at her face in the last one #that isn’t a triumphant ‘haha you thought I was a weak girl when really I can beat you up’#that’s a ‘you sicken me because if it were anyone else with you in this car what would you have done to her?’ #and because it’s Buffy #who’s used to defending herself against much stronger people #of course she’s able to fight back #but really #if it had been anyone else #even someone like Cordelia#how would that have turned out? #and that’s the expression I read on her face here #she’s looking at him and thinking about what he would have done to some other girl #and I just #love this show #okay #strong like an amazon
